Two Albanians convicted in the United Kingdom and Greece have been extradited to Albania. From the United Kingdom, 34-year-old Donald Hoxha was extradited, for whom the Court of Elbasan, with the decision dated 21.01.2024, assigned the security measure “Arrest in prison”, for the criminal offenses “Premeditated murder” and “Illegal Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition”.
In 2009, in Elbasan, in collaboration with 2 other citizens, he allegedly killed a person. Leodin Rungo was extradited from Greece. For the 44-year-old, the Korçë Court of Appeal, with the decision dated 15.02.2019, has sentenced him to 3 years and 4 months of imprisonment, for the criminal offense “Production and sale of narcotics”. Meanwhile, 4 other Albanian citizens were extradited from Albania to other countries.
In Italy, the citizens: Bledar Dushkaj alias Bledar Delia and Kristjan Uldedaj were extradited, while in Kosovo, the citizens: Riad Sopjani and Bastri Sadriu were extradited. Bledar Dushkaj alias Bledar Delia, was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment for the criminal offenses “Criminal Organization” and “Trafficking of narcotics” by the Court of Appeal of Milan, with the decision dated 06.06.2011.
This citizen was part of a criminal organization that trafficked drugs from the Netherlands to Italy, during the period November 2007-September 2008; Kristjan Uldedaj, 31 years old, received a sentence from the Court of Preliminary Investigations in Milan, Italy, with the decision dated 03.11.2023, assigned the security measure “Arrest in prison”, for the criminal offenses “Criminal Group” and “Trafficking narcotics”.
This citizen, during the period 2015-2022, was part of a criminal group that trafficked 35 kg of cocaine and 3.4 tons of hashish in Italy. Riad Sopjani, 23, was wanted by ILECU, Kosovo, for illegal possession of weapons and robbery, and has three arrest warrants issued by the Basic Court of Pristina.
This citizen was arrested in Durrës, in November 2021, during the police operation coded “Escape”; Bastri Sadriu was declared wanted by ILECU, after on 16.08.2022, he stole the vehicle of a state institution in Pristina and tried to smuggle it into Albania, through the border crossing point Qafë Morinë./abcnews.al
