Central Election Commissioner head, Ilirjan Celibashi has sent back the request authorized by former Democratic Party Leader, Lulzim Basha for the registration of the DP in the May 14 elections.
Celibashi stated that the presented documentation is incomplete and set an ultimatum of 48 hours to the legal representative of Enkelejd Alibeaj’s group, Indri Sefa. The Chief Commissioner stressed that competence can be delegated but responsibility cannot.
“The presented documentation is not complete for the reasons I said, so I will give you 48 hours to make the necessarily required additions for the statement of the chairman of the Democratic Party”, said Celibashi.
Celibashi said that Lulzim Basha and not former PM Sali Berisha is the chairman of the DP in the court and it is up to him to authorize the registration of the party in the May 14 elections.
