Appeal of the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) has not given permission to Fredi Beler to be sworn in as mayor of Himara.
Request was reviewed this Monday, where the court decided to dismiss his request to be sworn in before the municipal council. A few days ago, the GJKKO left the measure of arrest and imprisonment against him unchanged.
However, Beleri has been in prison since May 12, 2023, just 2 days before the May 14 local elections, as he is accused of buying and selling votes./abcnews.al
