At the proposal of the mayor Erion Veliaj, the City Council of Tirana has approved the awarding of the title of “Honorary Citizen” to the chairman of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti.
This title was granted to Ali Ahmeti as a sign of thanks for all his contribution to the Albanian community of North Macedonia.
Ali Ahmeti is one of the most important figures in the political and social scene of the Western Balkans. President Veliaj said that Ali Ahmeti will remain in the history of the Albanian nation for the works and contribution he has given to the Albanian community in North Macedonia.
After receiving the title in the premises of the Municipality of Tirana, Ahmeti delivered a welcoming speech to those present, who were invited to honor his contribution to Albanians in North Macedonia and beyond.
He said that Albania, although poor, has always shown a warm heart for Albanians wherever they live.
The head of government also underlined that Ahmet’s work and dedication to the rights of Albanians in Macedonia should be taken as an example.
