Prime Minister, Edi Rama has promised this Tuesday that there will be a salary increase for Albanian doctors and nurses, starting from next year. During a meeting with the doctors of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, where infected persons with Covid-19 have been treated, the Prime Minister stated that there is no talk of a salary increase of 5 or 7%, but starting from the new year 2021, there will be a significant salary increase.

“We want to achieve a significant salary increase, not 5 or 7%. We will make a significant salary increase, we are still calculating for the amount.

Beyond the EUR 1000 bonuses for all those in first line against coronavirus,  you will be at a level in the high average of the region.

We want to make this a reality early next year. With the start of the year all of you will have an increase in salary. It is a mandatory objective. We have taken certain measures, not to let the doctors leave. The truth is that the departure has dropped significantly,” said Rama./abcnews.al
