President Ilir Meta has congratulated US President Donald Trump on the 244th anniversary of US independence.
In his congratulatory message, Meta stressed out that the founders of the United States valued freedom and independence, and that these solid foundations remain to this day the main principles of the existence of democratic nations.
Meta also dedicates this greeting to all Albanian-Americans, who have been a bridge to strengthen relations between the two countries and emphasizes that Albania’s determination to stand by the United States of America.

Dear Mr. President, Donald J. Trump!
2020 marks the 244th anniversary of the independence of the United States, a common legacy of freedom and commemoration of travel, as well as the sacrifices of the great American people that made this nation so strong and prosperous.
Your Founding Fathers knew very well the price of freedom because they pledged to give their lives, their destiny, and their sacred honor to declare independence, as well as to protect the rights granted by God.
These enduring foundations remain to this day the main principles of the existence of democratic nations.
This anniversary comes at a very difficult time for the United States and around the world, as the COVID-19 pandemic has spread across our globe with its serious and unpredictable effects.
We are optimistic that the strength of the United States of America will prevail against this pandemic and that it will rise even stronger than ever, while being grateful for the generous support and assistance your government has given us through this difficult time.
Dear Mr. President,
In July 4, the people of the United States and its allies will celebrate the birth of your great nation.
