President Ilir Meta was today at the KSF cantonment “Adem Jashari” in Pristina, where he thanked the Kosovo Army for the valuable assistance they provided in the search and rescue operation.
There were also decorations for the dog that was part of the rescue team that the President kissed.
Dog named “Satak” of Kosovo Special Unit, managed to locate a person that came out alive from the ruins in Thumane while he was able to locate the 2 bodies of the Greku couple and a member of the Cara family.
Meta thanked members of KSF, police and other teams from Kosovo that helped Albania in the terrific event of November 26th, where the earthquake left 51 dead people and hundreds injured.
In his statement to those who were present, Meta said that KSF and Kosovo Police have been the heroes of salvation in the days when Albania was experiencing the tragedy.
“Kosovo should be proud of the KSF and its Police. Anyone would be proud of what you did for us, with the sole purpose of saving lives.
You have saved many lives, helped many residents. You were close to us in the most difficult times.
We express our deepest gratitude for this exemplary solidarity. With this help you have strengthened all of us. I express gratitude to all the people of Kosovo “, said the President of Albania, Ilir Meta.
