The Minister of Defense, Olta Xhacka, congratulates the 107th anniversary of the Armed Forces, in the words of Klea, the 9-year-old who “escaped” death as she was celebrating her birthday in Tirana on the night of November 26th.
Klea’s Diary:
“Dear soldiers, I am Klea and I am 9 years old, I celebrated my birthday on the most frightening day for any child.
Thankfully that day I was at my aunt’s house in Tirana because we live on the 10th floor in Durres.
In the morning I was asleep and did not know what happened, I heard my dad screaming loudly and took me at his arms.
It was very cold outside and I was watching people coming out, I didn’t understand what happened.
We finally went into the house and we learned that many homes were destroyed and many people were hurt.
On the television I began to see soldiers wearing hats of different colors and shapes. I asked my parents if it was a war?
I had not seen so many soldiers in town and they told me what they were doing.
I was surprised that I thought they were just struggling, according to the stories the teacher tells us at school but today I learned that they are not alone for that purpose.
I ask my parents all the time about you, even my mom helped me write this letter well, because I want to show you how much I love you.
I am very happy to learn that now you all will help us when we will be afraid and in danger. I don’t understand all yet, but I know there are many heroes in our country.
