Intensive and parallel cooperation with European counterparts finalized the extradition procedures for 5 citizens accused by the authorities in Albania and Italy.
Among those extradited is Arjan Shehu, sentenced by the GjKKO, to 5 years and 4 months in prison, for the criminal offense of “Aiding illegal border crossing”, committed within the framework of a structured criminal group.
During the period 2016-2018, Shehu directed a criminal group that provided, against payment, various citizens with false European passports, so that they could enter the United States of America, the United Kingdom and/or Canada illegally.
Also, Shpetim Abdullai, 52 years old, sentenced by the Court of Elbasan, to 1 year imprisonment, for the criminal offenses of “Abuse of duty” and “Forgery of documents” was also extradited. 11 years ago, this person, abusing his duties as a technical services employee, at IEVP Kosova, Lushnje, forged invoices for the repair of several Prison Police vehicles.
Shehu, Abdullai and Pirro Kotroçi were extradited from Greece to our country. The latter, in cooperation with another person, tried to kill a person with a knife in the city of Gjirokastra.
Two others, convicted of a criminal group, were extradited to Italy, where they will face justice for the charges brought. They are Ardian Sufaj alias Pllumb Sufaj and Artur Ademi alias Artur Liçaj.
