US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, thanked the Albanians during the visit to the Pyramid of Tirana. He said that he feels the warm environment both outside and inside, stressing out that the pyramid was rebuilt by the Albanian-American fund.
“Good afternoon to everyone, thank you for a wonderful welcome from the country of the eagles. I feel the warm atmosphere here. It is an important moment and an appreciation for your work.
I thank Mr. David for all the affairs of the embassy and Mr. Edi for the support and colors he has given to Tirana during his time as mayor.
People have told me that this building is dedicated to a dictator who took the Albanians to concentration camps. But today look around, this place is filled with light, there are coffee bar, it is a living symbol, of the present.
This building was rebuilt with the investment of the Albanian-American fund. Last year, a record number visited Albania and the football team qualified“, said Blinken.
