Head of Kurbin’s police station, Dritan Metaj that got arrested a day ago at request of Special Prosecution and Organized Crime (SPAK), turns out to have had an important role in the criminal group of drug trafficking in Fushë Kuqe.

Local media reported that Metaj performed the role of transporting criminal members, among them the drug baron Gëzim Çelaj, using his position as police commissioner to move them without anyone checking or suspecting them.

This criminal activity is documented with irrefutable evidence by SPAK, through a large number of mobile phones seized in the “Flame at Sea” operation organized in August, among which were found numerous conversations of Metaj with Gëzim Çelajn and 2 others declared wanted.

However, at the order of SPAK, other interceptions have been carried out in recent weeks, which have provided supporting evidence for the documentation of criminal activity.

As a result of this operation, the following are wanted:

– Gëzim Çela
– Arben Dalipaj
– Roland Muse

The police mega-operation “Flame at sea” started in August 2023 and in the first action four Albanians and two Ukrainians were arrested.
