A 23-year-old man has been arrested and three others have been put under investigation after being accused of cheating by selling cloned cards.
As part of the coded police operation “X-Card”, the young man was arrested who promised, through online platforms, cloned bank cards in exchange for monetary values.
Three young men, all three residents of Tirana, were also criminally prosecuted. From the verifications carried out, it was found that for a period of 1 year, about 100 different citizens in the Albanian state and EU countries were deceived on online platforms, advertising that they would sell you cloned bank cards, against monetary values, which were carried out in installments.
The amounts benefited by the authors from this activity reach the figure of 60 thousand euros.
Work continues on the documentation and identification of other persons involved in this criminal activity. The materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further procedural actions.
