The MP of PDIU, Shpetim Idrizi, this Monday in the plenary session recalled the genocide of Chameria. In his speech, Idrizi expressed his regret that even in the Parliament of Albania, which has condemned the genocides that took place in Kosovo, Bosnia, etc., there is still no decision to condemn the violence against the Albanians of Chameria.
According to him, the parliament should adopt a resolution for the protection of their rights according to the constitution.
“We demand that June 27 be declared the day of genocide against the people of Chameria. As is universally known, after the Second World War, a genocide was carried out on the Cham population. 2770 human lives were cruelly massacred, hundreds of villages were burned and looted, and 30 thousand Albanians fled. Hundreds more also died of starvation.
That is why, in honor of them, I ask you to observe 1 minute of silence. As a Parliamentary Group, we have made a request to observe 1 minute of silence for all the victims of the Cham people, “stated he.
