The National Council of the Democratic Party has started the work behind closed doors around 12:30.
Journalist Erneta Shevroja reports that the members are discussing the composition of the Electoral Commission and the approval of the seven names proposed by the presidency.
This is the only item expected to be approved today.
It is expected that there will be a public statement after this meeting.
As it was warned a day ago, there is no change of decision on the part of the Alibeaj group and most of the democratic deputies of the official line are not participating in this important meeting of the party.
Among them are Gazment Bardhi, Jorida Tabaku and 15 other MPs did not participate as they consider the process irregular while they had proposed another platform to elect the new Democratic Party chairman. Currently, there is only one candidate who has submitted the form, Gjergj Hani.
What is expected with interest is how Lulzim Basha will become part of the race, whose name is rumored as a possible candidate.
