Ambassador of the European Union in Albania, Christinane Hohmann, has chosen this Sunday Elbasan to observe close-up the local polls process for the election of this municipality’s Mayor.
In her speech, Hohmann stated that so far the day is calm and asked the citizens to participate in the elections and to keep calm until the end.
“Things have gone smoothly so far and the citizens are exercising their right to vote to elect the mayor. My wish for today is that as many voters go to the polling center and vote and that the day goes on smoothly and peacefully.
What the citizens decide today is which of them will be in the municipal councils and who will be the mayors in the next 4 years. Use your right to choose.
I am very happy that the OSCE has decided to bring observers to Albania who have been coming for a long time and have been following the situation day by day.
You know that a few days ago they released the preliminary report, but let’s wait for tomorrow when we will have the preliminary report to see the findings of the OSCE/ODIHR mission in Albania”, underlined Hohmann.
