Special Prosecution against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK) has demanded this Thursday the suspension of the investigation for Selim Çekaj, accused of trafficking 49 kg of cocaine from Ecuador to Albania.
Çekaj is the father of Arbër Çekaj, convicted for trafficking 613 kg of cocaine that entered Albania through his company’s banana containers. SPAK’s investigation was unable to prove Selim Çekaj’s knowledge of the drugs found in a plastic container ordered by a company under his administration.
Meanwhile, SPAK is continuing the investigation to identify the traffickers of the cocaine. Following his arrest in April 2021, Selim Cekaj spent several months in prison and then he was left in house arrest.
