A 28-year-old man has been arrested this Thursday by Lezha Police on the charges of narcotic substances’ transportation.
During the operation coded “Gurra”, the police detained citizen Elton Qarku, 28 years old, who was transporting about 48.5 kilograms of cannabis narcotics divided into 12 packages, ready for dealing.
In the 28-year-old’s vehicle, the officers found 12 packages of cannabis, with a total weight of about 48.5 kilograms. From the investigative actions, it is suspected that the narcotic substance was being transported for the purpose of sale.
Following detention, the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Lezhë for further actions on the criminal offense of “Production and sale of narcotics”
“Services of “Eagle” Special Force and the operational structures of DVP Lezhë, following the operations to attack criminal activity in the field of narcotics, after the immediate administration of the information provided by the information intelligence, for a case of transporting a quantity of substance narcotic cannabis sativa, have organized and finalized the police operation coded “Gurra”, in the framework of which the citizen was caught in the neighborhood “Gurra”, in the city of Lezha, and arrested:
E.Q., 28 years old, resident of Hungary, Lezha. During the control exercised in the vehicle driven by the 28-year-old, the Police services found 12 packages of suspected cannabis sativa narcotics, with a total weight of about 48.5 kilograms. From the investigative actions, it is suspected that the narcotic substance was being transported for the purpose of sale.
The narcotics were seized as material evidence, along with the arrested person’s vehicle and cell phone.
Investigative actions continue for the complete documentation of this criminal activity, identification and bringing to the fore the legal responsibility of other citizens involved in it”, said the police announcement.
