Puka’s mayor claims socialist supporters were threatened with gunshots ahead of polls

Gunshots were heard in the early hours of this Saturday morning in Puka, claims the Mayor of this Municipality, Gjon Gjonaj.  In a social media statement, Gjonaj stated that unidentified persons have threatened supporters of the Socialist Party (SP) and while leaving, they have fired firearms in the air.

Furthermore, he casrt doubts that this event has a political background, pointing the finger at the opponent of the “We Win Together, Rrok Dodaj” coalition, while calling on the Police to investigate the incident immediately.

“Puka after many years, close to midnight last night, I heard gunshots, which were fired in the city by those who, paid by the candidate without the opposition party, tried to destroy the tradition of Puka.

After the supporters of the Socialist Party have threatened you and the Armenian, as they were leaving, the vehicle they were traveling in was shot in the air.

But can the people of PukA be pressured in their home?! Forget this, Rroku thinks that he can take the town hall under the pressure of weapons. Here is the vision and strategy through which he seeks to come to power. Puka has shown citizenship, prudence and calmness in every situation, including election campaigns, and Rroku will not be able to spoil this, nor will the people with precedent that he has brought to Puka for a fee. I call on the State Police to clarify the incident immediately by using the evidence found after this incident.

I make a sincere plea to all our supporters that these days they avoid the provocations of those who think that Puka votes under the threat of guns by mercenaries who have landed from other cities with the purpose of intimidation. Can this happen?! Never No! Even those from Puk who were in that car will quickly feel the burden of responsibility for breaking this tradition of coexistence and harmony that characterizes Puka.

For all Albanians, I want to make a clarification: This is not Puka, it is not an event that happens by the people of Puk. As we have proven, we are a peaceful and hospitable people, and this is shown by the fact that no gun has been fired in Pukë for dozens of years.

This is the candidate who claims to take over the leadership of the municipality, which along with the defeat on May 14, will also take responsibility for such actions that spoil the image of Puka on the eve of this tourist season. God bless Puka”, declared the Mayor.
