Prime Minister Edi Rama, at a time when today a massive protest was called by lecturers in front of the Polytechnic University, reacted by saying that salary increases will not happen, because according to him an increase has happened.
Rama also accuses Sali Berisha, saying that a “Non Grata” is instigating this protest, while emphasizing that there will be no vetting for the lecturers.
“The media, massively engaged to present the protest of a minority of lecturers as massive, under the leadership of their non-gratis and followers, talk about an alleged Vetting that the imaginary regime will hold for lecturers! No vetting will be done, neither said nor thought!
As for the further increase in salaries, I repeat, it will not happen until the natural turn comes, after the pensioners at the end of the year and after the end of winter, when we will balance the costs of the electricity shield for the families of the teachers who are protected from the government!” writes Rama.
Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has today called on all citizens to support the teachers in a national protest, which will take place at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Polytechnic University.
Earlier, the teachers also announced about the national protest that will be held tomorrow. They also asked for the students’ support in their cause, as they do not agree with the government’s 7% salary increase.
