US Ambassador Yuri Kim stated last night that in about 200 people who have been declared “non grata” by DASH, no decision has been returned against them.
Sali Berisha in a press conference today responded to the ambassador’s statements. He calls them an election campaign against him on the eve of the elections for the new chairman of the Democratic Party. He further urges the US not to allow its representative to interfere in the internal affairs of political parties.
“Electoral campaign against Sali Berisha on the eve of his race for DP chairman. That’s my comment. I urge the U.S. government and Biden not to allow his government representative to interfere in the internal affairs of political parties. Especially the unimaginable efforts to appoint the chairman of the Albanian opposition of the Albanian conservative party.
On May 22, the DP will elect the new DP leader. Ibsen Elezi competes against Sali Berisha.
