The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky addressed today the Albanian Parliament. At the beginning of his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama told the Ukrainian leader that Albania will be on May 5 at the donors’ conference. Rama said that it has not been long since the Albanian people experienced the same story as the Ukrainians.

The head of government reminded Zelensky that the entire Albanian nation, including Kosovo, is with them.

“This parliament, which has the honor to convene today to listen to you, is not known for its spirit of agreement. There are very rare cases when the parties have agreed and wholehearted support is one of those even rarer cases, when we all here have agreed.

The whole Albania, the whole nation, including the other Albanian state, Kosovo, are lined up next to you. Albania is a much smaller country than Ukraine. Our possibilities are quite modest compared to the big states. But we have believed from the beginning that our country can make no difference.

The voice of Albania can be heard, both in NATO and the UN. On May 5, Albania will be present at the donors’ conference. Our recent history when millions of Albanians were displaced from their lands helps us to feel the pain of Ukraine.

“Your unwavering resistance, all parties to this tragedy are, in addition to extreme sacrifices, an invaluable service that you and your country are doing to the whole world,” said Rama.
