Xhaçka: The opening of negotiations was delayed, the government has done a great job

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, took the floor during the motion with debate for the progress of the European Commission’s report on Albania during 2022.

Xhaçka pointed out that the negotiations were not opened thanks to a generous decision of the member countries, but were deserved, even delayed.

“I want to thank my colleagues from the opposition for this motion, which gives us a very good opportunity to discuss the integration process. This motion comes at a time when the integration process has entered a very challenging new phase. It was not a generous decision, but a well-deserved decision as it has been accepted by the West itself”, said Xhaçka.

She added that the 2022 report is proof that the government has done a great job for opening negotiations and has furthered reforms in the country.
