Special Court against Corruption (GJKKO) has rejected this Wednesday the request for a milder security measure against Alma Kaçi.
The 40-year-old woman who was involved in the sexual scandal with the former mayor of Kukes, Safet Gjici, was requesting a change in measure from “house arrest” to mandatory appearance, but her request was rejected by judge Flora Haradinaj.
She is being investigated by SPAK for the charge of active corruption, while she requested an investigation in a free state. Alma Kaçi and Safet Gjici were arrested on June 24 after being accused of corruption.
Gjici is accused of passive corruption as he allegedly favored Kaçi by offering him financial support, by decision of the City Council, on a project for housing and caring for stray dogs in the city.
The 40-year-old herself has admitted that she wanted the dog tender from Gjici.
Both have claimed that they had an intimate relationship with each other before talking to the state office about tenders and favors and after they had sexual relations.
