Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha seems to be the only one in the race for the leader of the Democratic Party.
While Sali Berisha himself has publicly announced his candidacy to regain the leadership of the party, the other two main contenders who were rumored to be facing Berisha, have withdrawn from the race. It was Fatbardh Kadilli who withdrew from the race yesterday, while today, through a reaction on social networks, it was Ervin Kulluri who interrupted the race with the former prime minister. According to Kulluri this race is a big farce.
Only a few days separate us from May 22, which is predicted as the day when the elections for the new chairman of the Democratic Party will take place, while the deadline for announcing the candidacy is May 7. So far, however, there is no concrete name that has come up against the historical leader of the Democratic Party.
Asked about the possible race for the post that Berisha intends to take back, he said that he enters the race to win votes and the trust of the membership. He added that he would not invent or invent any rival to compete against him.
“My race is not for rivals but for PD members. I will run to gain the votes and trust of the members. What decision others will make it has nothing to do with me. It is everyone’s personal decision. Whoever runs, I guarantee that that commission will create all the conditions and the opportunity for a transparent race. “I do not invent and do not invent rivals,” said the former head of government.
