The Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu today in the Committee of Economy and Finance elaborated more the warning made a few days ago by the Assembly that in Albania the model of European countries will be followed, where to enter the premises or service structures you will need citizens to show the vaccination certificate, otherwise known as the “Green Pass”. Democrat MP Edmond Spaho asked the minister when and how this will be done.
“Europe is the epicenter of the virus and the increase in cases has led countries like Austria to include the Green Pass in measures to reduce the spread of COVID. We are evaluating it, it is an option, but we must have all the guarantees of its applicability, there is no place to have a police officer for every citizen to implement the measures, but here the general aspect of awareness has a lot to do with for vaccination, ”she said.
But what is happening in universities, where measures are not being implemented to prevent students who have not been vaccinated? The Minister of Health said that this is the responsibility of the universities themselves.
We have imposed the obligation to establish a “Green Pass” for each university. There has been an increase in vaccine coverage in universities; we are not where we need to be. For the age of 18-24 it is 30%, it is not where it should be, but we are cooperating with the universities, as awareness is required, above all of the young people themselves, but also of the academic structures. We as the Minister of Health have decided on vaccination universities, to make it as easy as possible.
This process will also require the cooperation of the universities themselves. As a minister, we do not recommend how teaching is done, we say that every student who accesses the university must present the card, here is a responsibility of the universities to take measures “, she said. /abcnews.al
