US Embassy in Albania has reacted after the statements of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha against the US Ambassador Yuri Kim and the lawsuit in the French court against the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
In a reaction to Abcnews.al, the embassy states that it remains committed to the fight against corruption.
“Between President Biden’s executive order, Secretary Blinken’s announcement, Ambassador Kim’s statements to the media last week and her editorial this week, the US position is clear and unchanged:
“The fight against corruption is a fundamental interest of the national security of the United States and we will use all the tools at our disposal to tackle corruption and impunity.”
Sali Berisha announced today that his French lawyer has filed a defamation lawsuit against Blinken in the French court and invited the latter to send the evidence against him.
Berisha said that Kim’s stance in the DP was inappropriate, calling him the most ridiculous in the 30 years left behind for a foreign diplomat in Albania. / abcnews.al
