The US Embassy in Tirana yesterday donated $385,000 worth of training and equipment from the Department of State’s Anti-Terrorism Training Assistance (ATA) program to the Directorate of Anti-Terrorism and Computer Forensics at the Institute of Scientific Police in the State Police. of the USA.

The donation is part of a larger $1.2 million assistance package from the Diplomatic Security Service to train and equip partner law enforcement agencies. The donation consisted of computer programs and servers that will assist the State Police in obtaining information from external devices to mitigate potential threats.
The Deputy Chief of Mission, Demian Smith, the Chief of the Regional Security Office, Karen Riley, and the Director of the Albanian State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, reviewed and signed the memorandums listing the donated items.
