Police of Tirana have cracked down this Wednesday on two cases of illegal organization of gambling, in two bars. In the first case, the owner of the bar was arrested and two other citizens were processed at large.
In the second case, the owner of the bar was declared wanted, while another citizen was prosecuted at large. During police checks, 3 computers used for gambling (slot machines), 1 computer, 1 laptop, 1 tablet and 1 mobile phone were seized.
Meanwhile, the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana for further actions.
“Services of the Sector for the Investigation of Cybercrimes in DVP Tirana, following the work to combat illegalities in the field of gambling, after the information provided that two citizens had made their premises available for the organization of gambling, have organized and finalized the coded police operation “Black Dawn”, as a result of which 2 cases of this criminal activity were hit.
??During the control exercised in the premises of citizen A. M., on Durrës Street, which this citizen had made available for the organization of unauthorized lotteries, electronic devices (a laptop, a tablet) were found and seized, which served for placing sports bets and distribution of users (accounts) as well as for placing bets with other people. During the control of the mobile devices of citizens A.K. and L.M., pages that serve for placing sports bets were found open.
Following the actions, the citizen A. M. was arrested in flagrante delicto and the proceedings started in a state of freedom for the citizens A. K., L. M., all three residents of Tirana.
??During the control exercised in the premises of a bar on “Nikolla Jorgo” street, owned by the citizen A. Z., the Police services found and seized 3 computers (slot machines), which were used for gambling. Following the actions, the citizen A. Z. was declared wanted and the criminal proceedings started in a free state, for the citizen R. K.”, announced the police.
