Two Turkish citizens were criminally prosecuted by the border police this Friday, after they were caught in Rinas with a large amount of undeclared EUR.
During the check and the controls on the backpacks, EUR 30,450 was found on E. G. citizens, while EUR 17,000 was found on S. S. citizens, which these citizens had not declared at the border, as required by law.
Meanwhile, EUR 47,450 were seized as material evidence and the procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Tirana Judicial District Court.
“Rinas Border Police Services, following increased controls, based on risk analysis, for the identification and suppression of illegalities, at the exit of RSh, have moved to the second line, for detailed control, Turkish citizens E. G. and S.S.
During the physical check and the check of the backpacks, 30,450 euros were found on the citizen E.G., while 17,000 euros were found on the citizen S.S., which these citizens had not declared at the border, as the law stipulates.
Following the actions, proceedings were initiated in a state of freedom for the holders of the sums of money, citizens E.G., 63 years old, and S.S., 35 years old, both residents of Istanbul, Turkey, for the criminal offense of ‘Failure to declare cash and items at the border worth'”, the police report said.
