The Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has announced its request for two detainees, the citizens Ardian Bega and Altin Myslihaka, involved in the trafficking of 137 kg of cocaine seized in the Port of Durres.
As reported, a total of 20 years in prison has been sought for the two men. Specifically, for Bega SPAK has requested 8 years and 8 months in prison, while for Altin Myslihaka 12 years in prison. Meanwhile, the trial of Gentian Malindi has been suspended, as he is on the run.
We recall that 137 kg of cocaine was blocked in the Port of Piraeus in September 2019 and replaced with rice by blue uniforms. The latter monitored the movements of the container, up to DurrEs, to detect the cocaine trafficking network.
Businessman Gentian Malindi is suspected of having come out as a guarantor to take the cargo from the container and then send it to the destination determined by the criminal groups. After noticing that the package contained rice and satellite locator, he threw the bag out of the vehicle, but was under surveillance by Special Operations Forces./abcnews.al
