Today, Tirana will be the capital of the European Union, as the leaders of the EU and the Western Balkans will hold the next summit. The war in Ukraine has returned the issue of enlargement to the top of the agenda of the European bloc, after several years of procrastination and obstacles. Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the one-day meeting is an indicator of the geostrategic interest that Europe has towards the region.
Seven are the most essential issues that will be discussed at the Summit. However, the main topic of this meeting will be the war in Ukraine, and the negative consequences of the energy crisis in the Western Balkans.
-cyberattacks, including concern about the increase in illegal immigration to EU countries;
– the consequences of the Russian aggression in Ukraine;
– political intensification and expansion policies;
– increasing the construction of security from foreign influences;- the challenges of immigration, the fight against terrorism and organized crime;
– increasing cooperation in defense against cyber attacks; the negative effects of the energy crisis in the Western Balkans;
– removal of “Roaming” with the countries of the Western Balkans.
