The scandal with the data of the citizens, the Prosecution closes the investigation

The Prosecution at the Court of First Instance Tirana completes the investigation for criminal proceedings no. 9428 of 2021 with the object of investigation the publication on social networks on 22.12.2021, through the application “WhatsApp”, the payroll of January 2021 of employees in state and private institutions.

This data was first disseminated through the “WhatsApp” application and then published in the media. The data is easily accessible by any citizen.

At the end of the investigation, the Prosecution sent the case for trial against the defendants:

1.Eni Qirjako,

Accused of committing the criminal offense of “Abuse of Duty”, committed in collaboration provided by Article 248 and 25 of the Criminal Code.

2.Andi Agaraj,

Accused of the criminal offense of “Abuse of duty” committed in collaboration provided by Article 248 and 25 of the Criminal Code, “Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions” provided by Article 259 of the Criminal Code.

3.Klodian Sota,

Accused of committing the criminal offense “Active corruption of persons exercising public functions”, “Passive corruption in the private sector” provided by Articles 164 / b and 244 of the Criminal Code.

4.Endri Ikonomi,

Accused of committing the criminal offense “Active corruption in the private sector” provided by Article 164 / a of the Criminal Code
