On 29.11.2019 Durrës Prosecutor’s Office has registered the criminal case referring to the earthquake of 26.11.2019 as a consequence a number of buildings were collapsed which caused the death 52 people.
It is suspected that the consequences were due to illegal construction and failure by the engineers and by civil servants’ failure to perform their duties properly which were tasked to oversee these constructions.
The case is registered for criminal offenses; “Illegal construction” and “Abuse of duty” provided for in Articles 199 / a, 3 and 248 k.penal./abcnews.al
