Democratic deputy, Gazmend Bardhi, has sent a letter today to the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, on behalf of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party.
Through the letter, DP requests the meeting of the Regulation and Immunity Council for the mandate of the deputy, Olta Xhaçka, to present the report from the rapporteurs, regarding the request for the removal of the mandate of the deputy, Olta Xhaçka.
DP accuses that Minister Xhaçka is in a conflict of interest regarding a decision of the Council of Ministers. The opposition claims that her husband is behind a company that will build a tourist resort on the coast of Himara in the capacity of a strategic investor.
Olta Xhaçka started her involvement in politics in 2009 as a deputy of the Socialist Party in the district of Korça.
In March 2017, she was entrusted with the direction of the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth, a position she held for only 5 months. In the same year, he took the leadership of another ministry, that of Defense, replacing Mimi Kodheli. Xhaçka held the position at the head of Defense until January of this year.
At the beginning of 2021, Xhaçka was entrusted with another ministerial post, that of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he replaced Gent Cakaj.
