The hearing session against former minister Fatmir Mediu for the Gërdeci case is postponed again. The journalist of ABC News, Ermal Vija reports that the reason for the postponement of the session that was to be held today is the powers of attorney for the victims of the tragedy.
The next session is scheduled to be held on July 18 at 2:00 p.m.
Mediu is accused of abuse of duty and abuse of duty committed in cooperation with the military chain of command. There are doubts that Mediu, in cooperation with other officials of the Ministry of Defense as well as other persons, issued sub-legal acts in violation of the law.
In addition to Mediu, SPAK is investigating another faction for “Corruption” and “Money Laundering” in relation to contracts signed for the sale of ammunition. So far, Aldo Bumçi, former minister of justice at the time, and Shkëlzen Berisha, son of former prime minister Sali Berisha, have been questioned.
