The Minister of Economy and Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, announced that during today’s government meeting, the postponement of the profit tax installments for exporters was decided.
The minister said after the meeting that this measure is due to the impact that the devaluation of the euro has had on these businesses.
Ibrahimaj emphasized that until March of next year, exporters will not pay tax on profit while adding that they will make this payment only if they are profitable after making the balance sheet.
Other measures include the VAT refund that will be given in a shorter time.
“Subjects that are exporters of more than 70 percent of products will not prepay profit tax installments, but only during the next year.
A measure that comes as support for the effects of liquidity shortages that businesses have caused due to the strengthening of the Albanian Lek in the foreign exchange markets.
There are also some other measures that do not need legal intervention, the VAT refund for exporters will be given within a short period of time.
We are in discussions with second-tier banks that offer products where businesses can fix the exchange rate for contracts that are placed one year in advance,” stated the minister./abcnews.al
