The downfall of TIMS system, police: We were not attacked by hackers

The State Police says that there was no cyber attack on the TIMS system again during Monday evening.

In a statement to the media, the police clarified that at some border points there was a short-term service interruption, in the framework of improving and increasing the performance of the TIMS system.

In relation to some news published yesterday evening, in some media and portals, in which it has been claimed that a cyber attack has occurred against the TIMS system, we clarify the public opinion that:

Regarding the TIMS system, yesterday evening, no cyber attack occurred, but in the framework of improving and increasing the performance of the TIMS system, some planned maintenance processes were carried out yesterday evening, which interrupted the service in a short time interval, in some from the border points, but without bringing obstacles to the free movement of citizens.

We confirm that after the short intervention, yesterday evening, the TIMS system continues to be functional, at all border points.We clarify that even in the following days, there will be short-term interruptions at various border points, due to internal interventions, in order to improve the performance of the TIMS system.

The State Police asks for the understanding of the media that before publishing news that has an impact on citizens, they should seek official information from the relevant structures of the State Police.
