The government has declared a day of national mourning in honor of the late President Bujar Nishani on June 2.
Pursuant to Article 100 of the Constitution, point 4, article 4, law no. 8926, dated 22.7.2002, “On the shape and dimensions of the national flag, the content of the national anthem, the shape and dimensions of the coat of arms of the Republic of Albania and the manner of their use ”, and following point 12, chapter VI, of the state ceremonial of the Republic of Albania, approved by decision no. 420, dated 8.6.2016, of the Council of Ministers, as amended, with the proposal of Deputy Prime Minister, Council of Ministers decided:
1. The proclamation of a day of national mourning, on Thursday, dated 2.6.2022, in honor of the late, Mr. Bujar Nishani, former President of the Republic of Albania, former minister and former MP.
2. In all state and public institutions to lower the national flag at half-mast.
3. The homage ceremony to be organized on Thursday, 2.6.2022, from 10:00 to 12:00, in the premises of the institution of the Presidency.
4. The funeral and ceremonial expenses to be covered by the budget approved for the Prime Minister for 2022.
This decision enters into force immediately. ‘- it is said in the decision of the government.
