Prime Minister Edi Rama has again demanded the immediate release of three Kosovo policemen, who have been in prison in Serbia for days.
The head of the Albanian government described their detention as a state aberration while saying that there will be no normalization of Albania-Serbia relations if they are not released immediately.
“There is no possibility of progress in dialogue or concrete de-escalation without their return home.
Nor can there be normality in the relations between Albania and Serbia as long as it does not put an end to the removal of the freedom of three policemen, who have not committed any crime.
Even if they have crossed the border line, it is known that in any democratic legislation for illegal border crossing, people are arrested, questioned and then sent back.
If Serbia has claims for arbitrary arrests in the north of Kosovo, these are not argued by holding hostage three Albanian policemen in Serbia, but by cooperating with the international factor and above all by acting concretely where the origin of this problem is, which is the relationship that needs to be normalized , which is the agreement that must be finalized.” said Rama.
