The Constitutional Court continues on Monday the next session related to the review of the agreement for immigrants with Italy, which the opposition describes as unconstitutional. Journalist Erneta Shevroja reported that the opposition wants the Constitutional Court to turn to the human rights court for an opinion.
“Today’s session is the third where the constitutional judges are examining the opposition’s request to declare the agreement unconstitutional. Opponents claim that the agreement does not stand because the constitution and human rights have been violated. The treaty of the Albania-Italy agreement of 1995 was requested.
The opposition has made some comments regarding this and has brought another document related to the human rights court, for the Constitutional Court to turn to for an opinion,” the journalist reported.
This is the third session that the Constitutional Court is holding on this issue, while it is not expected that she will make a decision today.
We recall that a few days ago, the Italian parliament approved with 155 votes in favor and 115 against (2 abstentions) the bill for the ratification of the Italy-Albania agreement on immigrants./abcnews.al
