Taulant Balla was sworn in as Interior minister this Saturday at 11:00.
Earlier, the Assembly approved on July 13, with 75 votes in favor, 16 against, 1 abstention, the appointment of Balla, who will replace Bledi Çuçi after his dismissal.
Çuçi was fired by Prime Minister Edi Rama after the serious incident in Thumana, where the relatives of former MP Rrahman Rraja brutally violated two people who reported damage to their homes from a quarry in Borizana.
Taulant Balla held the position of the head of the SP parliamentary group since 2017.
Earlier, he was also the general secretary of this political force, and recently the political leader of the Fier region.
