Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has registered this Wednesday a criminal proceeding against Fredi Beleri, candidate of “Together We Win” for the municipality of Himara, who is accused of buying votes.
Beleri is accused of having bought eight votes for 400.000 ALL, while according to the official document, he was arrested in the act for active corruption in the elections carried out in cooperation.
“The arrest was carried out as a suspected perpetrator of the criminal offense of ‘Active corruption in elections carried out in collaboration’, provided for by article 328 and 25 of the Criminal Code, which occurred under the following circumstances:
This citizen was caught i flagrant in Himara on 12.05.2023 at 00:14 minutes in cooperation with other persons, promising and giving monetary sums to various persons in order to buy votes.
The person arrested in flagrante delicto was informed that based on Article 255 he has the right to be defended, that he is not obliged to make statements and if he speaks, whatever he says can be used against him in the trial” , as quoted the document signed by the law enforcement.
