The Special Prosecutor’s Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime has launched investigations into former president Ilir Meta. Journalist Esiona Konomi reports that the head of SPAK, Arben Kraja, addressed a letter to the Central Election Commission.
SPAK requested the decriminalization form for Meta, after a lawsuit in the special structure. SPAK thus requests from the CEC to make available the form for the purpose of the investigation for the chairman of the Freedom Party.
“The Special Prosecutor’s Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime is conducting investigations in accordance with criminal proceedings No. 122, of 2022.For the needs of the investigation of this criminal proceeding, we request a copy of the self-declaration form pursuant to law no. 138/2015 “On guaranteeing the integrity of persons who are elected, appointed or exercise public functions”, submitted by the former deputy of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Metaj (Meta)”, says the request signed by Arben Kraja.
