SPAK has decided to seize the rest of the property of 5080 m2, where Jorgo Goro, the former acting mayor of Himara Municipality, is suspected to be involved. According to SPAK, Jorgo Goro, together with other persons, was involved in the alienation of a total land area of 10,592 square meters, for the account of a businessman, who was going to build a tourist complex in Dhermi.
He is accused of the criminal offense of abuse of duty committed in collaboration.
SPAK has confirmed that the area of agricultural land of 10,592 m2 that was alienated in flagrant violation of the law, has been placed under preventive seizure. After his arrest on March 23, 2024, Jorgo Goro developed health problems and is currently hospitalized in the Prison Hospital.
After conducting investigative actions, at the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with Decision No. 176, dated 28.03.2024, decided:
- Acceptance of the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, with no. 176 of the basic register, registration date 19.03.2024, with the parties and the object defined in the introductory part of the decision;
- The determination of the measure of property insurance “preventive sequestro”, provided by article 274 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, on the immovable property identified as “Property number 36/341, according to AMTP no. 9715 dated 07.02.1994, currently identified in mortgage certificates with no. 112, dated 16.04.2020, and no. 1116, dated 24.12.2013, which has been demarcated by the Himarë Municipality in area no. Property 36/35 with an area of 5080 m2.
