The Special Prosecutor’s Office has issued 11 arrest warrants for the incinerator affair, specifically for the Fier incinerator.
Journalist Xhensila Kodra informs Abcnews.al that 5 people have been arrested so far, while there is information about 5 others who are outside the Albanian territory and are wanted internationally. Meanwhile, another person is being sought within the country.
The operation is ongoing and some apartments are being checked.
So far, former high-ranking officials such as former Minister of Environment Lefter Koka and former Socialist MP Alqi Blako have been arrested for the incinerator affair. For Koka, there are 2 ‘prison arrest’ measures, for the incinerator of Elbasan and the one of Fier. SPAK claims that Koka has benefited through bribery of 5 million euros for the construction of 2 incinerators.
