The Court of Special Appeal will give the decision on Tuesday at 13:00 for the elected mayor of the Municipality of Himara, Fredi Beleri. ABC News reporter Ermal Vija reports that the Appeal will be heard in connection with the announcement of the decision.

Fredi Beleri and Pandeli Kokaveshi plead not guilty to the vote-buying charge after GJKKO sentenced the elected mayor of Himara to two years in prison and Kokaveshi to 1 year and six months in prison.

Kokaveshi’s decision is suspended with probation for three years. Thus, the Appeal will decide whether to uphold the decision of the first instance or whether there will be another decision for Fredi Beleri.

He was arrested two days before the May 14 local elections on the charge of buying and selling votes./ abcnews.al
