The Special Prosecutor’s Office has completed the investigations on the sterilization concession file, submitting the file to the court.
SPAK is communicating the charges to the suspected persons. Eight people are under accusation for the sterilization concession, among them former officials of the Ministry of Health, including the former minister Ilir Beqaj.
For the 100 million euro concession, 2 people have been put in handcuffs, former deputy minister Klodian Rjepaj and businessman Ilir Rrapaj.
As for Beqaj, the Special Prosecutor’s Office determined the measure of coercion of appearing before the judicial police and the prohibition of going abroad as a person under investigation for abuse of duty.
“It is about a tender worth about 100 million euros, organized since 2014 by the Ministry of Health, where, according to the prosecution, it was awarded to one of the businessmen who had acquaintance with the Deputy Minister of Health, and this acquaintance was not ascertained by Beqaj when was the head of the Ministry of Health.
Also involved are five members of the bid evaluation commission who will be tried under the charge of abuse of office,” reported journalist Ermal Vija./abcnews.al
