A criminal cannabis trafficking group has been destroyed in Vlora, after an anti-drug operation carried out during the night until the early hours of the morning.
According to the sources, about 500 kilograms of cannabis were seized and seven people were arrested. Two vans and two vehicles were seized during the operation, where the police of Vlora were joined by the RENEA and FNSH forces.
From the investigations, it turned out that a group of people were getting ready to transport a quantity of narcotics to the Turkish state via the sea border, the police announced.
Idriz Meminaj, Romir Meminaj, Emanuel Meminaj, Nertin Gjoni, Xuljano Gjoni, Laurent Likaj and Altin Meçi have been arrested. Meanwhile, several other citizens, residents of Vlora and Tirana, are being sought, whose names are not made public, because the investigation is ongoing.
The drugs were kept in the warehouse of Idriz and Romir Meminaj. After it was packed, it was being transported by the vehicle driven by Nertin Gjoni, which was stopped in the neighborhood on January 11
During the inspections of the perpetrators’ residences, two firearms, four vehicles and 8 mobile phones were seized, according to the police. The suspects operated in the form of a criminal group, each having their own role in packaging, packaging and transporting the narcotics overseas.
