Italian businessman Francesco Becchetti, sentenced to 17 years in prison for fraud has appealed the decision of the First Instance seeking innocence.

Sources for abcneës.al suggest that the complaint was submitted by other defendants.

The case is expected to be registered in the Court of Appeals, where there are two other Becchetti files, from 2018 and 2020, pending review.

Meanwhile, we recall that in February of this year, the Court sentenced the Italian businessman Francesco Becchetti to 17 years in prison, after the court panel confirmed that he had set up a VAT fraud and money laundering scheme.

Becchetti was charged with 4 criminal offenses “Theft by abuse of office”, “Laundering the proceeds of crime or criminal activity”, “Forgery of documents”, “Creating fraudulent schemes related to value added tax” .
