DP leader Lulzim Basha has presented the platform for reforming the electoral system.
The platform presented by the Democratic leader contains 18 points.

1.The electoral system is not the decision of the political parties, but of the people.
2.Elections in Albania have been marred. It’s time to change the rules.
3.First change, full constitutional and legal control over the candidates
4.Second change , zero tolerance for those involved in vote buying.
5.The third change, the financing of parties, they will not depend on wealthy businesses and individuals. Politicians will depend on the people and be controlled by them.
6.Who finances parties is exempt from public tenders after elections
7.Fourth change, identification, voting and electronic counting.
8.Fifth change, the system. We want a simple, clear, representative system.
9.Basha on the electoral system: The decision on the system should be up to all citizens, not just to the political parties.

11.Basha proposes setting up a Senate for government accountability. The 40 members of the Senate should be elected together with the 100 members of Parliament.
12.The two-chamber parliament does not increase the cost to the citizens, but it does change the opportunity to serve the people in a positive way.
13. Government arrogance and pressure will no longer work for an empowered two-chamber parliament.
14.Basha cites examples of the most developed countries with the Senate: the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Italy with two-chamber seats.
15.Until Albania becomes a member of the EU, 100 days before the election, Albanians must have a government which manage the process, and guarantees law enforcement and free voting.
16.Basha committed to electoral reform. Vote buying gives and power to politicians, businessmen and criminals.
17.Electoral reform is the first step that puts an end to corruption, to a stronger economy and EU membership.
